Details and Notes]]

Derivative versus Meronymic

The Derivative group of elements indicate things that are made or produced by deriving them from other things. The source thing is usually destroyed in the process.

The Meronymic group of elements indicate things that are parts of other wholes. It is probably not true that removing the part destroys the whole.
